Ye Olde Chandler Review ~ Soy Candles Rock!

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I really love candles, specially soy candles. Only it seems when you see them in the stores someone has either poke their fingers in them or they just don’t smell that great. Or they are scents that I don’t care for. So when I was visiting a favorite blogger /site owner friend Debbie of Snowberry Creek (shout out to Debbie waves) so was doing a giveaway for soy candles from a small company I at that time had never heard of “Ye Olde Chandler” at http://yeoldechandler.com I like anyone else did I tried to win a free candle. I didn’t but I still liked their site and need more soy candles. I am always in need of candles. They make great gifts and just brighten up rooms with fresh scents. I don’t care for the wick-less type, and I can’t burn wax candles due to the fact I have asthma. And plug-ins you can buy at the drugstore? Yuck!!

So off to Ye Olde Chandler I went!!

I ordered two candles, and have been back to order more! Read on to hear what Faye as to say about how Ye Olde Chandler got started.
“While walking through the mall together this mother/daughter team would see all these candles and think we can do better than this!” Faye (mom) was already making candles of her own from scrapes of old candles she had looking for a better candle. While working on candles the team decided that soy was the best way to go. While doing research, they found that soy because of its natural qualities burn cleaner and was better for those with allergies.

Ye Olde Chandler Candles was started in May of 2004 and started online offering their amazing candles not soon after. In fact they started the business because as a mom/daughter team they have always enjoyed doing things together.
The name came about thanks to Lesli (daughter) fascination with medieval and renaissance times. To date they have about 80 scents with the most popular being gardenia, cinnamon apple and jasmine, vanilla velvet.

When they started out with many different styles of jars including the all popular jelly jar till they decided to go with 5 different containers with just the classic tumbler and the hex jar becoming the most popular. At this time they are no longer offer the jelly jar style candles. They also offer wax melts and votive’s. Each candle is handcrafted when you order so you know that the candle you are receiving has not been sitting on some shelf collecting dust.

They started with just 20 scents with the number growing as people ask for them. For example my favorite scent which I just can’t seem to find is Orange Mango after having done a review on a candle with that scent. When I contacted the company and asked them about the scent I was looking for, they gladly told me they would try to create it for me. They got it right the first time!! So yes I have ordered more in my favorite scent as well as send one to a good friend of mine for Christmas.

Hex Style Candle, win me!!

Best advise comes from Faye. “ Burn out of drafts, all burn the first time and each subsequent time long enough for the candle to have a full melt pool across the top. Burn the candle till there is a pool on the top the first time you burn it. Otherwise the candle will only burn that much each time and you get the tunnel and it leaves lots of wax on the sides. The candle has memory, as funny as that might sound. “
I have found that the tunnel thing has happened in one of my candles I bought lately because I had no idea that this happens and now I wish I had burned it for longer.

All in all this is a great little company run by a mom/daughter team. They love to work together which is one of the major reasons they started. They love of candles shows in all their work.

They are great products, soy candles are totally amazing and fast shipping. Will I order more? Oh yes I will! And they have been kind enough to give me a candle that you can win!

All you have to do is visit their site and pick out the scent you would like if you were to win. My personal favorites are Orange Mango, Mango Papaya and a really nice office scent is Frankincense & Myrrh. Its light and airy.

Not matter what is going on in the world today, small companies such as Ye Olde Chandler and others like them are still going strong offering amazing products we all can afford. Check out their site at http://yeoldechander.com and tell them Kim send you.

I give their candles and service a 5 out of 5 today!

Btw I bought the candles I did this review on, no one paid me for my opinion.. :) Happy Wednesday everyone!!
