We all know with summer here you want to run around wearing those brand new sandals you couldn’t stop yourself from buying! But when you look at your feet well they just aren’t ready to be seen by anyone else. Here are a few tips to get your feet ready for summertime fun!
You will need a bowl or something big enough to put both your feet in.
Your favorite shade of nail polish : You know I recommend BB Couture! ( I just gave myself a pedicure and now wearing Ode to a Ladybug on my toes!)
Get Them In Shape-Begin by removing traces of any old nail polish. If possible use a organic nail polish remover, check out Karma Organic nail polish remover in Lavender, its on sale!
To avoid jagged edges, smooth the edges with a buffer.
Use a salt/sugar scrub to get rid of all the dry skin and callus. I totally recommend Cherish Aromatic Salt Scrub by Au Naturel Ayurveda. Its like stepping into a spa but at home! Exfoliate-Soak your feet in warm water then exfoliate with a grainy scrub. While you are at it, do your legs as well. Gently push back the cuticles on your nails and clean under the nails with an orange stick. Using a dry skin foot file; whittle down calluses or rough patches on the heel and balls of your feet. After sloughing away the dry skin, use a cream that is designed to keep feet smooth and soft on your feet nightly.
Applying your Nail Polish-Start with a base coat of your favorite nail polish. I use Hard-On Nail Strengthener by BB Couture. This helps protect your nail as well as help the color to stay on your nail. After that, apply two thin coats of your preferred color. Seal with a clear top coat. Allow about 20 minutes for drying and refresh your look with a new layer every couple of days.
