Having worked and tested out other brands of sulfate-free shampoos I am always interested in testing new ones. As the market for better hair care products grow, more companies are starting to come out with improved natural Hair Care products. Why sulfate free? Well sulfate is bad for your hair as it can remove the natural oils as you foam up. Sulfate is what causes the foaming in your shampoo.
Now when I was asked to try EVOLVh brand I was happy, it’s natural and sulfate free. The company is out of CA.
(What they say about their products as a brand over all)
EVOLVh products are made using 90% or higher organic ingredients content. Our formulations contain unique blends of natural active ingredients not found in other hair products, and produce visible results you can see and feel. In fact our formulations are are the most advanced of any other natural or organic professional hair care line. We use specialized amino acids and fatty acids to nourish and repair hair.
Our products are sulfate, paraben and sodium chloride free. They are also vegan, containing no animal products, and are not tested on animals. Our products are designed to help you have beautiful, healthy hair without compromising your health or life values.
UltraShine has quickly earned the trust of top hairdressers and discerning clients, with many dubbing it the most moisturizing and repairing shampoo in the world. Designed to provide the optimum level of moisture, amino and fatty acids, and pH level for every hair type, the result is hair that is shiny, full of bounce, without frizz and with greater strength and elasticity.
Now my thoughts about this sulfate free shampoo. The first time I used the shampoo I noticed very little foaming up. Which is what should happen!
When using a natural sulfate shampoo I don’t expect it to lather up. They are not meant to generate lots of suds in the same way as more conventional shampoos do. That doesn’t mean it’s not cleaning your hair either.
Now I was surprised the second time I used the shampoo because there was a little more foaming than the first time I used it. So I went looking for a reason or ingredient that tells you why. I am a big label reader.
I read that coconut oil is used in many products because it’s a natural foaming agent. Well in the shampoo there is an ingredient derived from coconut. Well look what I found in their ingredient list?
Decyl glucoside So off to Wikipedia I went. And guess what?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decyl_glucoside > Decyl-gluocside is derived from coconuts!
Bet you didn’t know that did you?
Just like UltraShine Shampoo, UltraShine Conditioner has earned the trust of top hairdressers and discerning clients, as the preferred conditioner when moisture and repair are the imperative. Designed to provide the optimum level of moisture, amino and fatty acids, and pH level for every hair type, the result is hair that is shiny, full of bounce, without frizz and with greater strength and elasticity.
They have on their website something about a two week challenge. Using this conditioner for two weeks and then email them about how your hair is now compare to how it was before you started using their brand. I would of rather gotten a full size of their shampoo and conditioner to give it that 2 weeks to test it out. Sample sizes just don’t tell you the whole story. But it was good enough for me to want to buy their products. Love a brand that is Paraben free and vegan.
What they say about SuperFinish Polishing Balm
Incredible shine, frizz and fly-away control, plus moisture and nutrient infusion for gorgeous, stunning hair. SuperFinish can be used in wet or dry hair.
It is perfect in wet hair before styling for heat protection and amazing shine, especially prior to flat-ironing. It can also be applied to dry hair of any hair texture – fine or curly/thick for shine, added softness, and frizz and fly-away control. When flat-ironing, apply roots to ends to wet hair, blow-dry, iron, and enjoy your straight, gorgeous, shiny hair.
I had fun with this, you can use it on wet hair to add volume and protection while using a hair dryer. I used it to smooth down my bangs to stop with the flyaways when I dried my air dried my hair. It says use a moderate amount when drying your hair starting at your roots. Well I dry my hair hanging over because it’s so long. Adding to my roots is a issue also because I am a natural blond, it very easy to get weigh down. So I added it to the ends and worked it into my hair that way. That is just me, what works for me doesn’t mean that is how it will work for you. I really like it as a smoother for bangs.. and it does add some body. IF I used too much then my hair looks a bit greasy the next day. So for you the best way to figure out how much is to test it. I found a quarter size works.
Overall using these products for a week, I got soft happy bouncy hair. I smooth a little of the Polishing Balm on my bangs so that they behave and we are out the door! Visit http://evolvh.com to see which salons offer their brand or to pick it up for yourself.
