Let’s start with your question “which type of exfoliation is available for my skin or age and why? Can I do it at home?
Why do you need to exfoliated your skin? Here are a few reasons why you would need to. But if your of question why you need too? Read below why exfoliation is necessary. Plus if you are over your late 30’s you really need to add exfoliation to your nightly skincare routine.
Why do you need to exfoliate?
The reason most doctors will give you this answer. Which is pretty basic answer:
“New skin cells are created in the skin’s inner layer (dermis). As they form form, the old, dead skin cells are pushed to the outer layer of the skin (epidermis). These dead cells gradually flake off. But some of them hang on for too long, making your complexion look dull & rough and clogs your pores causing acne & other blemishes. Exfoliating the skin removes these dead cells. As you age, your skin becomes slower in pushing new skin to the outer layer of your face. You need to help your skin turnover old skin to be replaced by newer skin cells. The number one reason why you need to as you age.”
Now if you tend to drink more than a couple of glasses of alcohol, your face may have more build up of dead skin cells causing fine lines to turn up sooner.
Smoking really causes problems overall, even living with someone giving you second-hand smoke will take a toll on your skin.
(I was a 2 1/2 pack smoker when I was younger. Smoking can make your face look older than you really are. Plus smoking will cause lines around your mouth turn up earlier than a non-smoker does. Should I know). 🙁
Now you know why, what types of exfoliation is available that you can do yourself?
There are lots of DIY facial masks recipes on the web! Below are a few that are really good using products in your kitchen! Listed below are a few DIY recipes. (Please test these before you apply the mask to your face. Good place to do so is in your inner elbow. If you get really red skin, or it itches?
