Before You Forget – Poem by Kim Snyder

Before You Forget – Poem by Kim Snyder

As we travel down life’s path between there and what lies ahead into tomorrow
We as are running down the path in so much hurry we start forgetting about what happen today before the day is done.
Yet wanting tomorrow to hurry up and get here so that we can do more,
Always running towards something, never quite sure what…

We forget…
What we did yesterday will have an impact on what tomorrow will be, could be, or may never be…
Yet as we run down the path full steam ahead, missing out on the beauty of today…

Looking back isn’t the way, looking too much ahead blinds us on what today is…
Does your path look like a train wreak of mistakes, regrets, and sorrow?
Or does your path look like an empty field, all dried up and dusty?
Does your path look filled with broken hearts, and broken families?
When was the last time you just stopped? Took some time out and did nothing?
Sat back in your favorite chair and started
Looking back at a childhood once filled with joy and laughter…
Or maybe your childhood wasn’t all that great…

How we act or react to what today throws at us

We forget…
How we work just to look busy, when you rather be outside in the sunshine,
We forget…
There maybe no tomorrow for you, only the higher power knows that answer for sure…
Maybe it’s time to slow down and see how you can take time out to “just be in the now”
don’t think about tomorrow, don’t think about yesterday, just be in the now
before you forget, what has been driving you this hard for so long…
All those wants, and desires, all that need to be known, loved, family…
We forget why…
