Her –
Let me hold you for the last time –
Your train is almost here
I understand why
But it doesn’t help as tears
Start falling down her cheeks
We do this every time
I cry watching you board the train
Your face showcasing raw emotions
Mirroring how I feel
This time could be the last time
Turning as to hide my tears,
My face showing the world my personal pain
This is always the hardest part of it all
Him –
As he sits down, he sees all of those
Sharing the same boxcar with him
All trying not to show all the raw emotions
On the faces, Some cry quietly
Hoping others do not see
As he sits, looking out the window
He sees she is still standing there
Their eyes meet as if for the last time
He sits back, as memories run those his mind
Holding the last photo of the two of them
Standing in front of the Welcome Sign
I will be back he whispers at the photo
I will come home to you
As the train starts
He looks back to see her till she is lost in the smoke
He looks ahead, so much to do
Time has come, he has a job to do, looking up he sees
In front of them their ride, all shiny and bright
In the morning sunshine
That is their ride into space
It’s time to help bring their people home
Her-
I watch the train till I can see it no more
Wiping the tears off her face,
She pulls a simple photo from her purse
Looking at it again, fear hits her, should she have told him?
Knowing he has a tough time ahead
There is never a good time to tell someone they will be a dad
She whispers, don’t worry little one he will be home soon
BOOM!
Suddenly a loud sound rocks the ground
Smoke rolls towards her, causing her to fall, choking on the smoke
She screams
arms around her stomach
Sometime has just happen, and it’s not good
Him –
As his shiny ride to the stars starts up,
His mind on what lays ahead
Suddenly everything just seems too loud
Belted in, checking to see all systems a go
BOOM!
Sometime wrong has just happened
There is no time
His last thoughts, as his ride fills with fire
Is her face telling him she loves him
Her –
She screams again as she sees a ball of fire rises up in the air
Where his ride to the stars once stood
tears falling down her cheeks
This time, had just turn into the last time
He won’t be coming home
