The recipe is simple. These are best eaten the day they are created, although they will keep overnight in the fridge.
1 Pack of Fresh Strawberries
1 Package of Chocolate Chips
Wash and drain the strawberries. Gently pat dry with paper towel. Leave the stems intact. Place half the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high until melted (approx 2 minutes). Holding the strawberries by the stem, dip them, one at a time, into the chocolate.
Gently shake the excess off and placed the dipped fruit on wax paper until the chocolate is firm. If the chocolate becomes too thick, just do a quick reheat for a few seconds.
You can get white, dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips from the grocery store and pastel dipping coatings from craft stores that sell cake and candy making supplies. You could melt some chocolate and then dip the tips of the Strawberries you have already done so you have two types of Chocolate on one strawberry
You could also create a chocolate basket for those same strawberries. Take a small pie pan or soup bowl or latte cup and line it with foil and then spray it with Pam so the chocolate doesn’t stick. Melt the Chocolate and pour it carefully into a zip lock baggy and seal shut.
Snip a small hole in the corner and drizzle the chocolate till you have created a basket. Chill it until firm. Carefully remove the basket and place it on a serving plate, filled with Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
Something easy to create and fun to have all year round! In fact you can use other fruits as well.. try chocolate covered cherries as a fun treat as well!
Enjoy!
